Day- 2: “Om Shri Sai Lakshmi Narayanaya Namaha”

Day- 2: “Om Shri Sai Lakshmi Narayanaya Namaha”

Meaning:

Humble salutation to Sai who is the incarnation of Lord Narayanaya, the consort of Goddess Lakshmi.

Meditation:

Our Rishis and Sages visualised Brahmam God or Guru as the energy that creates maintains destroys and conceals the universe the manifestation of Brahmam.  For the understanding of those who are yet to reach the stage of Self Realisation they assigned the functions of creation to Brahma, maintenance to Vishnu and Destruction and absorption to Shiva. Vishnu, the God of maintenance was visualised as one with wealth, Goddess Laxmi and thus Lakshmi Narayan.

Baba said: “If any men or creature come to you do not discourteously drive them away but receive them well and treat them with due respect. Shri Hari (God) will be certainly pleased, if you give water to the thirsty, bread to the hungry, clothes to the naked and your veranda to strangers for resting.” (Shri Sai Satcharita: Ch. 18 & 19)

Baba was very attached to Vishnu Sahasranamam and initiated Shama to recite Vishnu Sahasranamam. Giving him the book He said: “Shama, this book is very valuable and efficacious, so, I present it to you, you read it. Once I suffered intensely and my heart began palpitate and My life was in danger.  At that critical moment I hugged this book to My heart, and then Shama, what a relief it gave me! I thought that, Allah himself came down and saved me. So I give this to you, read it slowly, little by little, read daily one name at least and it will do you good”( (Shri Sai Satcharita: Ch. 27)

One day while Kakasaheb Dixit was in meditation, after his morning bath in his Wada at Shirdi, he saw a vision of Vitthal. When he went to see Baba afterwards, Baba asked him, “Did Vitthal Patil come? Did you not see Him? He is very elusive, hold Him fast otherwise, He will give you the slip and run away” ” (Shri Sai Satcharita: Ch. 27)

He gave darshan to the devotee in the form in which devotee wanted to worship him.  For the devotee who meditated on Him as Vithoba, He appeared as Vithoba.  He is Lakshmi Narayanaya.
