Shirdi Sai
Ashtotramala – Meaning, Meditation and Miracle
Day - 27:” Om
Shri Sai Aapad Baandhavaaya Namaha.”(Shirdi Sai Trust).
Meaning:
Humble
salutation to the protector of those who are in distress.
Meditation:
The very thought of God gives calmness to the person who thinks of God.
Those who have faith get a feeling that they are not alone and feel that they
have God by their side whose power is unlimited. This very faith makes the
person confident, optimistic and capable of focusing the mind, find solutions
to the problems instead of becoming worried and depressed. The devotee’s faith drives
off his feelings of fear, and doubt. The devotee says to himself that God will
take care, let me do the best what I can leaving the results in His hands, and
faces the problems with courage and clarity, does his best and happily accepts
the results as God given.
Brahmam, God or Guru can give such a peace to the mind. The distress and
anxiety vanish, with peace and happiness taking their place within us. When
Arjuna was in great distress and was unwilling to fight Bhishma, Dhrona and his
own kith and kin, Bhagwan Krishna gave him confidence to have faith in the Brahman
to act with calmness and to leave the fruits of the action to God.
Bhakta Narayanarao had the good fortune to see Baba twice during latter’s
lifetime. Three years after the passing away of Baba in 1918, he wanted to come
to Shirdi, but could not. Within a year of Baba’s Mahasamadhi, he fell sick and
suffered much. All the possible remedies gave him no relief. So he meditated on
Baba day and night. One night he had a vision. Baba came through a cellar
comforted him saying,” Don’t be anxious, you will improve from tomorrow and
within a week you will be on your legs”. Narayanarao got perfectly well within
the time indicated in the vision. Now the point for consideration is this: Was
Baba living because He had the body, or was He dead because He left it? No,
Baba is ever alive for, he transcends both life and death. He who loved Him
whole- heartedly, gets response from Him at any time and at any place. He is
always by our side and will take any form, appear before the devout Bhakta and
satisfy him. (Shri Sai Satcharita Ch: 33)
He thrust His hand into
fire to save the child of the poor Ironsmith that fell into the furnace from
the mother’s lap. (Shri Sai Satcharita Ch:
7)
He got the bubos on His body to save the son
of Mrs.Khaparde from plague saying “See how I have to suffer for My devotees,
their difficulties are mine” (Shri Sai
Satcharita Ch: 7).
Today
thousands of devotees put their faith on Him when they are in distress and come
to His temples to offer their prayers as they feel their dangers have been
warded off, their problems have been
solved, their calls have been answered with love.
Yes,
He is Aapad
Baandhavaaya.
