Shirdi Sai Ashtotramala – Meaning, Meditation and Miracle

Day-29. “Om Shri Sai Bhakthi- Mukthi- Swargaapa Vargadhaaya Namaha.”

Meaning

Humble salutation to the one who bestows worldly pleasures, salvation of the soul, heavenly bliss and ultimate merger.(Shirdi Sai Trust)

Meditation:

Brahmacharyam, Grahastham, Vanaprastham, Sanyasam are the four stages of the experiences the soul is expected to go through in each birth. Irrespective of religion, culture, levels of economic development, colour, creed and sex every normal individual living a full life goes through these major four stages of emotional development- as a child and teen, as an adult, as a settled personality and as a retiree in life.  As long as the soul desires to experience the world through pleasures and pains, it goes through the cycles of birth.  On satiety, the stage in which it has no more desires, it longs for the liberation from the cycle and going back to its state of bliss and then Samadhi and becoming what its true nature that is Brahmam. It is the Brahmam or God or Guru, who leads the experiencing soul in the unification, liberating the soul from the cycle.

The great sage Thiruvalluvar says,

” Desire the desire of The Desireless; desire that desire to become Desireless”. (Thirukural: 350)

While talking on the way one should conduct oneself to attain Mukthi, Baba said:

“Unless there is some relationship or connection, nobody goes anywhere. If any men or creatures come to you, do not discourteously drive them away but receive them well, and treat them with due respect. Shri Hari (God) will be certainly pleased, if you give water to the thirsty, bread to the hungry, clothes to the naked and your Verandah to strangers for resting. If anybody wants money from you and you are not inclined to give, do not give but do not bark at him like a dog. Let anybody speak hundreds of things against you, do not resent by giving any bitter reply. If you tolerate such things you will certainly be happy. Let the world go topsy-turvy, you remain where you are. Standing in your own place look on calmly at the show of all things passing before you. Demolish the wall of difference that separates you from Me, and then the road for our meeting will be clear and open. The sense of differentiation as I and thou is the barrier, that keeps away the disciple from his Master and unless that is destroyed the state of union is not possible. “Allah Malik”, i.e. God is the sole Proprietor, nobody else is our Protector. His method of work is extra- ordinary, invaluable and inscrutable. His will be done and He will show us the way, and satisfy our heart’s desires. It is on account of Rinanubandh (former relationship) that we have come together, let us love and serve each other and be happy. He who attains the supreme goal of life is immortal and happy, all others merely exist i.e., live so long as they breathe.”(Shri Sai Satcharita, Ch: 18 &19).

Baba shows us the way to be happy here in this life and the life after. He is Bhakthi- Mukthi- Swargaapa Vargadhaaya.
