Day - 54. “Om Shri Sai Ananta Kalyana Gunaya Namaha.”

Shirdi Sai Ashtotramala – Meaning, Meditation and Miracle

        Day -
54. “Om Shri Sai Ananta Kalyana Gunaya Namaha.”

Meaning:

Humble salutation to Shri Sai who possesses infinite auspicious attributes. (Shirdi Sai Trust).

Meditation:

When we come across a good person, we feel satisfied and happy. We find that person’s simplicity, or sincerity or kindness or brilliance or clarity of thinking or whatever that goodness that attracts us to that person gives happiness to us. We want to interact with that person and enjoy the company, enjoying that goodness in them.  The Self craves to be associated with goodness. The celebrities in different fields and their fans’ relationship is also an extension of this nature of self within us, which is in search of enjoying good attributes.

Rishi’s and Saints who were also in search of this goodness understood Brahmam, God, or Guru in the state of Nirgun which literally means “absence of attributes” This is in effect can be perceived as the presence of all attributes in infinite measure like when all the colours are present in the rays of Sun, the colour becomes colourless (which we call white, though!). The one who attains the attribute of infinite love and compassion, one who attains the attribute of infinite intelligence, one who attains the attribute of commanding infinite power becomes Brahmam, God, or Guru. To this person or soul we are attracted naturally. Because the Self by its nature, wants to merge again into this Brahmam, God, or Guru and naturally enjoy that state of “Anantha Kalyana Gunas” or infinite virtues. Brahmam and God being perceived virtual, the soul tries to  see in Guru these infinite virtues in real life.

Baba’s Leelas are so amazing that those who are blessed by Baba’s Leelas feel the infinite compassion he has for His devotees. Each Leela is a manifestation of his motherly care and kindness. While permitting Hemadpant for writing His Satcharita He said,” If My Leelas are written, the Avidya (nescience) will vanish and if they are attentively and devoutly listened to, the consciousness of the worldly existence will abate and strong waves of devotion and love will rise up and if one dives deep into My Leelas, he would get precious jewels of knowledge”.

Hearing this, the author (Hemadpant) was much pleased, and he at once, became fearless and confident, and thought that the work was bound to be a success. Then turning to Shama (Madhavrao Deshpande) Sai Baba said, “If a man utters my name with love, I shall fulfill all his wishes, increase his devotion.  And if he sings earnestly My life and My deeds, him I shall be set in front and back and on all sides.  Those devotees, who are attached to me, heart and soul, will naturally feel happiness, when they hear these stories.  Believe Me that, if anybody sings My Leelas, I will give him infinite joy and everlasting contentment.  It is my special characteristic to free any person, who surrenders completely to Me, and who worships Me faithfully and who remembers Me, and meditates on Me constantly. How they can be conscious of worldly objects and sensations, who utter my name, who worship Me, who think of My stories and My life, and who thus, always remember Me! I shall draw out My devotees from the jaws of death. If My stories are listened to, all diseases will be got rid of. So hear My stories with respect, and think and meditate on them, assimilate them.  This is the way of happiness and contentment.  The pride egoism of My devotees will vanish, the mind of the hearers will be set at rest; and if he has whole hearted and complete faith, he will be one with supreme Consciousness. The simple remembrance of my name as “Sai, Sai” will do away with sins of speech and hearing”. (Shri Sai Satcharita Ch: 3)

Through His Leelas we know Him as “Satchitananda Sadguru. He is Anantha Kalyana Gunaya.
