Day-35. “Om Shri Sai Paramasukha Daya Namaha”.

Shirdi Sai Ashtotramala – Meaning, Meditation and Miracle
Day-35. “Om Shri Sai Paramasukha Daya Namaha”.
Meaning:
Humble salutation to the one who grants eternal comfort and Supreme happiness.(Shirdi Sai Trust).
Meditation:
Param refers to the Supreme, the highest. When India developed series of Super computers, amongst the most powerful computers of the world  the series was named  Param.
The Nirgun status of the Brahman is Param and we say Paramatman for the highest status our Atma can achieve. What could be Parama Sukh? While talking of the experiences, we call the highest state of happiness as the “Parama Sukh”. It is   implied that anyone who reaches that state, is free from all worries including the fear of losing that state.
How can we reach that State of irreversible happiness? Can we get it on our own? Are we to ask someone to give us that state?
The students of chemistry talk about active reagents and passive catalysts. A catalyst helps the change of other reagents without itself under going any change. For some reactions to take place the presence of a catalyst is essential. When a devotee aspires to reach the state of absolute happiness the thought of God, Guru or Brahman is the catalyst that brings the change in the devotee. When we identify ourselves with the Guru, we become catalysts not affected by the ups and downs of the life’s events around us and play our roles, causing reactions and yet not being affected by it. True devotion to Guru can lead us to the state of Parama Sukham, the state in which we totally offer the results of all our efforts to Guru or God as Bhagwan says in Gita.
Hemadpant writes in Shri Sai Satcharita:
Everybody knows how a cow loves her infant calf. Her udder is always full and when the calf wants milk and dashes at the udder, out comes the milk in an unceasing flow. Similarly, a human mother knows the wants of her child before-hand and feeds him, at her breast in time. In case of dressing and adorning the child, the mother takes particular care to see that, this is well done. The child knows or cares nothing about this, but the mother’s joy knows no bounds, when she sees her child well dressed and adorned. The love of the mother is peculiar, extraordinary and disinterested, and has no parallel. Sadgurus feel this  motherly love towards  their disciples. Sai Baba had the same love towards me, and I give an instance of it below:
In 1916 I retired from Government service. The pension that was settled in my case was not sufficient to maintain my family decently. On Guru Pournima (15th of Ashadha) day of that year, I went to Shirdi with other devotees. There, Mr. Anna Chinchanikar, of his own accord, prayed to Baba for me as follows: “Please, look kindly at him, the pension he gets is quite insufficient, his family is growing. Give him some other appointment, remove his anxiety and make him happy!”
Baba replied,” He will get some other job, but now, he should serve Me and be happy! He plates will be ever full and never empty. He should turn all his attention towards Me and avoid the company of atheists, irreligious and wicked people. He should be modest and humble towards all, and worship Me with heart and soul. If he does this, he will get eternal happiness”.Shri Sai Satcharita-Ch: 3)

Like a mother who takes care of the child and gives comfort and happiness, Baba takes care of His devotees. The devotee who live their lives leaving all the results to Him, are not affected by the joy and sorrows of life. He is Parama Sukhdaya.
